Anyone with even the slightest interest in politics knows that this is one of the most contentious times in recent history. The fighting and bickering about where to cut in federal, state and local budgets has both conservatives and liberals alike fighting like cats on a hot tin roof. Unions and Tea Party advocates are just the latest example of fighting for turf to maintain the status quo or return a wee-bit more control of taxpayers money back to the taxpayer.

Everyone should enjoy a basic right to privacy, according to one of the more compelling arguments against WikiLeaks' "megaleak" of ver 250,000 diplomatic cables.  In this view, a diplomatic communication should be protected so U.S. diplomats can communicate candidly to Washington, without fear their words will be made public and used against them.

Many forget so soon the words of First Lady Barbara Bush on Good Morning America back in 2003 when she discharged this vile statement on the coming of the invasion of Iraq; "Why should we hear about body bags, and deaths...I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

With the primaries behind us, the political atmosphere in Greene County is quickly return to the status quo.  Tea Party affiliated candidates lost in general by large margins, and no big surprises shocked county voters at the end of the day.  Big spending by Republican incumbents and insiders brought easy victories.
