Dear Officeholder,

As a citizen I wish to thank you for your willingness to step forward and serve in public office. It must be challenging to voluntarily place oneself under intense scrutiny in order to run for political office. I do take your role as a leader very seriously, so please bear with me as I share with you some of my concerns and criticisms.

The president addressed the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to a lukewarm reception. His comments once again ignored the group with the most to lose in this economy - small businesses.

President Obama addressed the United States Chamber of Commerce this week, receiving a less than warm reception. In his speech, the president stated that American companies are sitting on about $2 trillion and encouraged business leaders to spend that money on new jobs.

They were once called "peace officers" because their job was to keep and encourage peace in the community; they are now called "law enforcement officers" and expect citizens to look upon them with respect, and tremble in fear when encountering them.  These are today's Police Officers here in the United States, and while they also claim to be "public servants," that seems to hardly be the case as average citizens like you and I are unable to fire them from their servant role, nor are we able to tell them to leave us alone when they intrude into our lives, or when they blatantly violate our civil rights or even State laws.  This was the case in a recent encounter I had with several Beavercreek City Police Officers.

"History is written by the Victors" so said Winston Churchill. So too says Mark Potok, revisionist for the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery Alabama.  Potok is no stranger to those who are consistently trying to keep history dishonest.  If you want "both" sides of history, which is hardly ever taught, you have to seek out documentation which hasn't been "revised" to such an extent that it truly becomes a one sided expose.  Potok's claim to fame is "class warfare" in my opinion.  He loves to tell the half of history that stirs raw emotions in most readers who believe everything they were taught in public school approved history books.  These books are “politically correct” and are like those “half-truth” emails that are forwarded to all us and continue to get forwarded by so many who don't take the extra time to find out the "rest of the story."

Pro-lifers are dedicated to the idea that God values all human life, they are committed to educating women about the dangers to their physical and emotional health if they undergo abortions, they are relentless in pointing out the horrors of abortion – and they are some of the most bloodthirsty warmongers on the planet.

Everyone should enjoy a basic right to privacy, according to one of the more compelling arguments against WikiLeaks' "megaleak" of ver 250,000 diplomatic cables.  In this view, a diplomatic communication should be protected so U.S. diplomats can communicate candidly to Washington, without fear their words will be made public and used against them.

Thank you for the invitation to comment on subject memo, “Better Buying Power: Mandate for Restoring Affordability and Productivity in Defense Spending.”  Except for a less-than-ambitious 2-3% expectation for reducing funding for unneeded or low priority overhead (read fraud, waste, abuse, corruption) in the way the Pentagon does business, I couldn’t agree more with your latest initiative to “support our forces at war on an urgent basis” and advance Secretary Gate’s mandate to be “respectful of the American taxpayer at a time of economic and fiscal distress.”  Right or wrong, the U.S. has committed its citizens to finance an expensive interventionist foreign policy which cannot be sustained without (1) bankrupting the U.S. economy or (2) drastically reducing wasteful, unneeded, and at times corrupt defense spending.

On Sept. 8, Mennonite Central Committee U.S. sent an open pastoral letter to Anabaptist churches. The letter calls for congregations to "redouble" efforts in reaching out to Muslims in their communities "amid increasing anti-Islam sentiment." Here is the letter:

Propaganda artists Jack Torry and John Nolan couldn’t have written a more one-sided piece on the recent Pentagon announcement that the MQ-1 Predator aircraft is on its way to the Springfield Air National Guard.  This article is nothing more than stroking whiny politicians from both parties looking for top cover as the November election approaches.

In the aftermath of the failure of Issue 7 in Xenia, some troubling details and statements have been brought to light by individuals seemingly affiliated with the Xenia Fire Division and the  IAFF Local 698, and these statements, which could be labeled even as subtle threats are found to be disturbing by local area residents.  Issue 7, was to be an increase of 0.5% in income taxes for Xenia residents. IAFF is a member of AFL-CIO, the largest labor union conglomerate in the United States.
