I recently received a letter from the city of Xenia informing me that I overpaid my income tax to the city for 2009. It was nice of them to inform me and be honest about my mistake; but no refund check was included, and there was no indication of when the surplus amount would be refunded to me.

Ordinances can be very controversial topics, and every effort needs made to make them very public from day one of drafting . When do you get asked for your opinion?

Within hours of Tuesday's Greene County election results being made public, mainstream media in Greene County and in the Miami Valley were already playing fiddle for the two failed tax levys in the area, the Xenia 2.25% income tax levy and the 4.9 mill. Kettering Schools levy.
